This morning meeting will be held in English. At the in-person morning meeting, we will be serving tea, coffee and breakfast from 8.30 am.

PlaceOnline and in-person at iuno, Njalsgade 19c, 3rd floor, 2300 Copenhagen S, Danmark.

Would you like a clear overview of the new rules under the upcoming revision of Regulation 261, and what they will mean for airlines?

You have probably seen thousands of AI-generated LinkedIn summaries claiming the 261 recast is purely a win for passenger rights. That narrative is incomplete – several new provisions actually rebalance the Regulation in favour of air carriers.

This morning meeting offers a face-to-face deep dive into the new rules and how they apply in the Nordic countries, including the points that specifically benefit airlines.

We are also joined by Dr. Andreas Vogeler, who will explain how the new rules are expected to be applied in Germany and Austria.

We will cover, among other things:

  • The new and clarified rules on rebooking and rerouting, including the "comparable transport conditions" standard – more nuanced than the "first available flight" assumption many still operate under
  • The complex new mechanism requiring airlines to give passengers a genuine choice in connection with rebooking
  • The new, codified list of extraordinary circumstances in Annex I
  • A quick-fire update on the rest: the new 9-month and 12-month deadlines for compensation requests and complaints, the free cabin bag rule, guaranteed adjacent seating for children, and new airline response deadlines
  • A German and Austrian perspective from Dr. Andreas Vogeler on how the new rules are likely to be applied and enforced

The morning meeting starts at 9.00 and ends at 11.00 am. The last 30 minutes will be a Q&A session.

You can either register for the in-person morning meeting at our office in Copenhagen or sign up for the online event.

The morning meeting is free of charge and is aimed at people with responsibility for passenger rights and compliance at airlines.

If you have any questions about registration or anything else, please feel free to contact us at communication@iuno.law
